BIG Digital is among the finalists for the Global Digital Signage Awards 2022 in the Digital Out of Home Category. “We’re in great company as the Finalists, representing some of the most exciting creative executions, technical innovations, media placements and visual experiences in the world,” said Jeff Wismer, Vice President of BIG Digital.
The Digital Signage Awards were created to recognize outstanding campaigns, creative executions, technical innovations and media solutions that excel in the areas of Digital Signage and DOOH advertising and digital visual experiences.
BIG Digital, partnered with Fortis AV and The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences to create unique DOOH projection mapping experiences around Toronto promoting the 2021 Juno Awards.
Tasked with helping to promote the Juno Awards week, the artists and their sponsors, BIG Digital chose two iconic Toronto locations to project on.. in the weeks leading up to the final awards.
The first location was at Toronto’s popular Distillery District where the heritage Stone Distillery building was lit up, promoting the event to the main square as well as nearby highway.
The second location was Ontario Place which was celebrating its 50th anniversary and was the perfect location for a massive digital canvas to showcase all the nominees and sponsors.
Lit up by multiple outdoor Christie Digital DLP projectors, synced content and augmented with lighting, the excitement of Juno’s week came to life each night, showcasing not just current nominated artists and sponsors but also historical moments from the last 50 years.
Fully conceived and executed while observing pandemic protocols for the city, this unique digital-out-of-home activation was an example of how to use projection and digital technology to overcome challenges and still surprise and engage viewers.
“We have been working with the JUNO Awards production teams for half a decade now. We are always honoured to step in and help create memorable digital experiences while projecting our love of music! We are so proud of all the teams that made this special installation possible to celebrate the Canadian Music Industry.
We are very proud of our BIG Digital team for being a Finalist for the Global Digital Signage Awards 2022 and going for back-to-back wins, as BIG Digital won Gold last year for our Genesis Projection Mapping Experience at Pearson International Airport.” said Mike Girgis, Co-Founder of BIG Digital.
The winners of the Digital Signage Awards 2022 will be announced on the evening of February 2, 2022, at the Esferic Events Center in Montjuic, Barcelona.
